I spent the last few days of purchase Sanders and bring them back (2 in fact). One was a porter and 3x21 cable. This seems to be a well built sander, except the dust collection system is very imperfect. I had more dust than to go flying in the bag. Then I had the difficult task DeWalt. It is a heavy crude. I found the front wheel at the top creates a vibration from time to time for the Sander appears hop and create tiger stripes on the job. It also requires much energy BTO hold it. Even tghough thedust collector seems to be one of the best, I found a lot of dust in the bag. I do not know if the hole in the structure of the bag is to escape the dust or the creation of static electricity to attract dust. Even if the bag collecting dust, it seems that blows a lot of sanding dust around. When in a tight corner and I advanced forward to extend the scope, it seems to bite work. It seems to pass by a large number of abrasive belts with little to show for it.
Then I bought this baby .. Verylight and requires very little effort to keep on working (always in struggle with the DeWalt). The way it was intended, it seems to be very little dust on the outside of the bag, and even then, there are no vents to blow around. The collection system works very well and there is even a little attachment that I can plug in a store-PVA with a small pipe. Abrasive belts seem twice as long as the DeWalt (do not know why it is so). The sanding seems to be much more effective than the otherSanders, I tried and returned. The icing on the cake is an accessory to hold the sander as a table sander.

Well-executed design combined with solid, reliable performance make this Bosch belt sander a tool with noticeable performance advantages. The Bosch features a magnesium-and-plastic housing that's lightweight yet durable. The tool is nicely balanced, comfortable, and easy to operate--important features in a tool that's often used for long periods of time for removing large amounts of stock. The Bosch comes with a cast-aluminum platen--so there's none of the warping that affects stamped-steel platens--and it sands perfectly flat right out of the box. Like many of the sanders in this class, the motor on the 1274 is aligned with the belt edge to allow flush sanding into corners. The tool's only drawback is that visibility is limited when sanding into tight corners, but that's a small minus when weighed against all the pluses. The belt-changing system works well--we didn't suffer any spring pinches--and the tracking adjustment tracks the new belt quickly and keeps it in place. There's a variable-speed dial built right into the trigger switch, which makes adjusting the belt speed fast and convenient. Wood magazine tested 10 3-by-21-inch sanders and liked the 1274DVS best.
